http://www.courselogic.com/ Yes No Would you use the website? 6 4 Do you understand what it is? 10 0 Do you feel you would understand a class better from using the website? 8 2 Would you pay for it? 3 7 Do you like the option to use your school email for free? 9 1 Would you recommend it to your friends? 5 5
Many of my friends tried to become more familiar with the website without success. They tried their school email, which had a USF email requirement and the Facebook option would say their user information did not exist. Obviously, the website still needs to work out a few kinks but the idea was well received by the survey participants. The four “no” received for using the website was by participants that were no longer in school. Although, they did comment that they would mention it to their children or friends. It might be difficult for CourseLogic to separate its site from others, i.e. Quizlet. Marketing through social sites and through search engines will be key to increase the demand for CourseLogic.

I asked 10 pet owners (1 prospective pet owner) their thoughts on this website and everyone agreed that it was a good idea for a business and a nice website. Five people said they would definitely use this website, while three said they might use this website, and two said they would not use this website. The average monthly fee that people would pay for a membership to this website was $10. Although this website might be more useful to some (people with multiple pets, kennel owners) than others (people with one small pet, people who are not internet savvy), overall there was a positive response to the company.

I sent out an email to all the students in my class. As the results show, most students would love to save some money on their pets needs. Only 1 person said no to everything because they did not like the idea of buying from a social buying website. Overall, most pet owners understand how expensive owning a pet can be and in today's economy, saving money is a good thing!
Sometimes there are warnings out there about buying pet medicines, foods & supplies online so I do not condone that. However, if it were very inexpensive toys or beds and of that nature than I would buy from them, but they usually get you with shipping fees. So I buy things that don't last very long anyway at a discount department store and buy the nutritional meds etc. from the Vet or reputable store. Classmate~Charlie V.

In a world like today where technology is advancing at an alarming speed, it’s amazing how many companies still use outdated machines such as the fax. Many organizations still either give you the option to fax a document or mail it, and the mail takes a few days. I know that I don’t own a fax machine. Jibfax is a company that will give you your very own fax number that you can ‘fax’ documents right from your computer, and people can ‘fax’ things back to you in return, and your documents will go to your email inbox. To make it even better, you can send and receive faxes from mobile phones too! How convenient does that sound?
Please answer the following: 1) Would you use a service like this for your personal or business needs? 2) Do you understand how this would work? 3) What would you pay for something like this? 4) Would you recommend this to friends? http://www.jibfax.com

One respondent said they'd look for a free version of the same type of service before paying for it. -All respondents said that they would recommend it to friends if they had the need for that type of service.

I found the concept rather funny and therefore picked this website as my market test. Most of my friends did not like the website especially because it is an odd subject. In order to sign up to the website you classify yourself as a "geek" which most people would not want to do in the first place. Then, you are not making the first step in the dating process, but the website claims girls come to you. In today's society this is often seen as a no-go. To summarize, I think this is a weird concept and I doubt you anyone will find the right girl here. Sounds like a girl would need to have a weird fetish in order tontact guys on here. You're probably better off using any popular dating website than this!
As a dog owner and animal lover, I chose to use BarkingDeals.com for my market test. This is a site that I have personally used before and I have had wonderful experience with it. I sent the email to 15 friends and family memebers. All of the people that responded to the questionarrie also had at least one pet in the home.

Most of the ‘maybe’ responses were due to the fact that some of the pet owners are loyal to certain brands. They stated in comments that if their brands were offered they would definatley use the website.

I don’t currently own a pet, but as a past dog owner, I chose BarkingDeals.com for my market test. I’ve heard of others who have used this site before and have spoken very highly of it. I asked 18 of my friends and family members to please take a few moments to take a quick survey for me. Of the ones who responded below was their reply.
http://www.barkingdeals.com/page/barking-deals-pack Would you consider using this service for your pet care needs? 10 said yes, 2 undecided Do you feel this service would be of benefit to you or someone you know? 9 said yes, 3 undecided How much would you be willing to pay to be apart of this great service? On an average $5.99 – 12.99 per month was the response How often would you visit this site and take advantage of the discounts being offered? 5 said monthly, 5 said bi-weekly, 2 said weekly How much do you think your pet would treasure the benefits from such a services? 5 said yes, 5 undecided, 2 said no Would you consider telling a few other about the great services found on this site? 8 said yes, 4 undecided Would you recommend this type service to your various friends and family members? 12 said yes As I read the various responses, I could understand why some were undecided about the products and making a change. It’s hard to change when you’ve been accustomed to doing things or buying certain products for such a long period of time. However, given the information from this site, I don’t feel the decision to make a change would be that hard after trying the product and services. Thanks, Hattie

I did a market test on www.minicities.com to 10 family members and friends. The responses that I received were that everyone liked the concept of the site. However the site still needed some improvements and some of the suggestions were to add more businesses, communities & detailed information about the businesses. There seemed to be a lot of businesses left out of the community. Some responses said they had trouble surfing the site and others had no problems at all. This particular website is a franchise business and I asked in the survey would anyone be interested if funds were of no object and 7 out of 10 said yes! Only one person was willing to be a member of the site if they decided to charge a usage fee. All and all is was a likable site with much potential.
Tour Wrist is a program that allows you to virtually tour hotels, restaurants, vacation destinations, and even real estate right from the convenience of your iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad. It's as easy as holding your device out and moving it either up, down, right, or left as if you were actually looking around in the place you chose to tour. The program also allows you to personally take panoramic shots from your device and upload them to the database so others can view them too. The ability to preview a location before wasting time, money, and gas to actually go there is great in an economy like today's.
I surveyed a small group of both friends and classmates to get some feedback on their take of this new program. The following questions were asked:
Would this be a program you would use? 8 Yes 2 No

Barking Deals I have always had the passion for dogs, in fact, I own 5 adorable dogs at the moment. Having dogs in my family is like having little kids as well. Often, dog owners dress or accessorize their adorable dogs/ cats with colorful stuff not to mention the toys these domestic animals possess. I surveyed 10 people from my closest friends from work to my family members and I had a series of questions about Barking Deals.

I enjoyed browsing through the website and thought that this was a genius idea. We all know men are forgetful (at times) when it comes to the one we love. I personally tend to forget important dates and anniversaries which will land be in the doghouse. It isn't so much the gift we give, but the thought that was put into the gift. The website would send out e-mail reminders when a gift giving date was coming near. It allows you to access websites that have an array of gifts from flowers, food, and jewelery with minimal effort. It sounded very appealing to me, not because I'm lazy, but because I would appreciate the extra help and reminders. It does take time and effort when trying to get the right gift. So getting the right one would award be many brownie points in the future! I surveyed ten of my guy friends and asked a series of questions:
1.Would you use the services of this company? Yes=5 No=5
2.Do you understand the concept of this company? Yes=10 No=0
3.Would you be willing to pay for this service? Yes=0 No=10
4.Would you use this if it was free? Yes=7 No=3
5.If it was free would you recommend it to friends? Yes=8 No=2

After my study I would say many people would like a site like crowdsavings.com. It reminds me of Groupon and Living Social, both are websites that I personally purchase from monthly.
Lets face it, it is becoming more and more difficult to sell homes in this tough economy. Whatever your reason for moving is, domuswap.com is a site that is worth checking. It is the Internets first social network for permanent house swapping. Domuswap allows you to post your properties and communicate with other owners as well. After my market test, it appeared that most of the 10 surveyed agreed with this idea.
Assuming that it is a perfect situation and the homes are of equal value. Please answer yes or no to the following questions.
Questions

All ten people surveryed understood what the site was 2) Would you browse for homes on this site? 8 people answered yes, while 2 answered no 3) Would you post your home on this site? 6 answered yes, 2 no 4) Would you recommend it to a friend? 8 yes responses, 2 no responses 5) Would you be opposed to the idea? 9 were in favor, while only one opposed
The startup idea that I chose was “Geek Is Single”. It’s a cute idea for a dating site for, well, geeks. Similar to Match.com it’s exclusively for geeks of all kinds. I sent the survey to my friends, who all ranged from 20+ and were both male and female. Most of the males turned it down saying that online dating wasn’t normal to them and they wouldn’t even want to get involved. Some of the females were willing while others were freaked out by the idea of online dating. Nobody in my survey group wanted to a pay a high price for this service. Some of my friends said they would recommend the service, while others couldn’t say no fast enough.
Would you use it? 6 NO, 4 YES Feelings? No's mostly said they were freaked out by online dating and found the idea stupid. Yes's were happy to meet new people and willing to try. How much would you pay? Majority wanted free, or super cheap startup fee How often would you use it? Some said monthly, while others said annually Recommend? 7 NO, 1 MAYBE, 2 YES

I sampled 10 people. (5 males and 5 females between the ages of 20 - 50) The questions and results are shown below.

Market test: Utilizing the following website http://tampabaywave.org/ventures, I uncovered a startup business of Food Blogs that created personal interest for me. I held a focus group of about five women and asked them about the business offering, including:
Would they use it? Yes, this group expressed there is a demand to uncover new and innovating ideas around cooking and recipes. As well as you could never have too much resources around food ideas.
What is it? This site was set up as an open blog of individuals to talk about food recipes, cooking and baking tips and personal experience of certain foods.
How does it make them feel? The feelings around this are overall positive with greater possibility to take advantage of in the future.
How much would they pay for it? The focus group expressed a concern over price and stated they probably would not pay for this service.
How often would they buy it? Never, unless free.
Would they recommend it to their friend? Yes, taking advantage of the site was expressed successfully and did mention they would tell a friend about it in the future.
I selected Barking Deals for this assignment. I am a huge pet lover and I know a lot of people in the society feel the same. Barking Deals is a website that behaves similarly to Groupon or Living Social, in that it invites pet lovers and their friends to save varied amounts of money daily on their favorite pet products. Unlike the other two companies I just mentioned, Barking Deals only focuses on pet deals. I personally had never heard or known of its existence, so I am very excited to personally make use of these savings in the future. I surveyed 10 of my friends between ages 22 and 28 and asked them the following 6 questions (after explaining what the business is about): 1. Have you heard of Barking Deals before? 2. Would you visit the website? 3. Do you consider the website user-friendly? 4. Would you take advantage of the offers? 5. On a scale of 1 to 5 how frequently would you check the website for good deals? (1 being the least frequent/never to 5 being the most frequent). 6. Would you share this website with others via word of mouth or social media? Question A B C D E F G H I J 1 Y N N Y N N Y N N N 2 Y N Y Y N N N Y Y Y 3 Y N/a Y Y Y Y N Y Y Y 4 Y N Y Y N N Y Y Y Y 5 5 1 4 3 1 1 1 4 5 4 6 Y N Y Y Y N Y Y Y Y
After evaluating the outcome I noticed that the majority of the sampled group (about 30%) had never heard of Barking Deals which could mean two things: Barking Deals isn’t advertising enough or it may be advertising to a different demographic. After informing them of what Barking Deals was about, 60% of them were interested in checking out the website and learning more. The 30% that were not interested either had little interest in pets or did not own a pet and saw it as no value to them. 80% thought the website was user-friendly and the majority sais they would frequently check the website for good offers. Almost 90% of the sample size said thay would share Barking Deals with friends and family. I found interesting that subject B, who was least interested about this discussion, would share the information on his Facebook and twitter accounts with friends and family. He said that he would do so only because he knew of people who may enjoy making use of it.

I think this website would be useful to find local listings and activities because when you are traveling and are not familiar with the area, a website like this is very appealing.
I was interested in the Tour Wrist app for Apple products. I liked that it is available for free so people could test it out if they wanted to. I personally tried it on my iPad and found that the basic idea of the app is great, but there is not enough widespread use of it yet. I would want to see panoramas of famous sites and cities in other countries, but a lot of panoramas of people's homes is what I found. And it was difficult to find the panoramas I wanted to view with the interface they had designed. So personally, I love the concept, but it definitely needs improvements before it is heavily marketed. I asked basic questions about how interested people were after viewing a promotional video on their website and received a few reviews on my Google Docs form.
After viewing the video, were you interested in the TourWrist app? 6 Yes, 3 No
How did you feel about the app after viewing the video? Curious, Excited, Sounds Cool, Looks easy to use, Not important to me, Want to see it in action, Not polished yet
Would you buy this app? 2 Yes, 1 Maybe, 1 If I Owned a Business, 5 No
How much would you expect this app to cost you? Ranged from I want the free one to 5.99.
Would you recommend this app to friends and family? 4 Yes, 3 No, 2 Depends on personal interaction with app
How many times a week would you use this app? Ranged from 0 to 5
I did a market survey for Commendable Kids. As described on tampabaywave.org, CommendableKids.com allows parents, teachers, and anyone who cares about children, to register a child and begin awarding them badges for their hard work, milestones, skill developments and anything else you believe deserves commending. Then, you can invite family and friends to be a fan of the child, giving them high fives and leaving comments. As the mother of two little boys, I thought that this idea was genius. There are plenty of instances in life and places in this world where kids feel let down or not as special as they actually are. This is especially true in transitional times in a child’s life, like when a new sibling is born, or when a loved one passes away, or when a parent leaves the family. Children have an inherent need to feel loved and appreciated for who they are. So, I love this idea! It’s like a social network specifically to recognize a child’s special achievements or commendations. I surveyed 10 people in their late twenties to late thirties, all have children. I surveyed 7 moms and 3 dads. 1. Would they use it? All said yes. All of the ladies, and one of the men said that they would use it regularly. Two of the men said that they would use it occasionally. 2. What is it? All of the respondents understood what the concept was. 3. How would it make their child feel to read all of the special messages left for him or her? All of the respondents agreed that there child would be happy to read the special messages. 4. Should this service charge a fee? All of the respondents compared this with other social network sites where revenue is ad generated. None of them thought that the service should involve a fee. 5. How often would they use it? Most of the respondents (70%) said that they would use the service at least once per week. Two said that they would use it once or twice a month, and one said that they would use the service on special occasions. 6. Would you recommend this service to other parents? All of the respondents said that they would recommend this service to other parents.

Market Test: CourseLogic LLC By Paty DeMilo MAR 4413
The company that I chose for my marketing survey was “CourseLogic LLC”. It really called my attention. The services they offered and the concept of helping out students is wonderful. I tried to become a member, but unfortunately I wasn’t able to receive a confirmation email. I tried to sign in with my personal email and my student email as well, without any success. However, the idea of the company really seemed great to me so I sent the survey to 10 of my friends and most of them agreed that CourseLogic had a good differentiation strategy compared to other sites that offer academic support. The results are as it follows:
1. Would you use an education system to improve your grades?
YES: 9 NO: 1
2. Do you know what an education system is?

3. Do you think it would help you to improve your academic performance?

YES: 10 NO: 0
7. How would you rate the standards of teaching in your area?
POOR: 3 ACCEPTABLE: 2 GOOD: 4 EXCELLENT: 1
8. Do you think good education is important to succeed?
The company that I chose was Commendable Kids. I thought out of all of the ideas this one would promote good behavior and a desire to achieve excellence for kids and their parents. I went through and researched the ideas and concepts associated with the company and understood that it was definitely a way for kids to take responsibility in their behavior and have fun doing so. It was a way for kids to be rewarded through an online systems that parents, guardians, teachers, etc. were able to view and praise. It is almost as if it is a positive reinforcement system. If a child sees that they are being watched not only at school but at home and it was an actual site that they are measured on it may make them see the rewards as a way to improve their behavior or keep it consistent with how they are being. It may actually mature them in a way as in doing chores or treating their elders as well as siblings with respect. I sent the survey to 10 of my friends/family and here are the results:
1.What do you think about the concept of this startup business?
All 10 agreed it was a great concept. One said that it was an exceptional idea since it related to their child in girl scouts where they receive recognition as in badges and patches for things they have done. One agreed that it was a great concept but only for ages 3-10 years of age.
2.Would you use it for your child(ren) or grandchild now or in the future?
6 out of 10 surveyed said that they would use this system. 1 said that they would consider it. 3 said no. 1 said that “this would be a great idea for their niece but not their children since they are older. They also mentioned that this would be a great idea for her niece if it was a tangible item.”
3.How much would you be willing to spend on membership to this site per month?
3 surveyed said $0, 2 surveyed said $5, 4 surveyed said no more than $10, 1 surveyed said “depending on how many children they had would depend on the amount but then no more than $15 per month.”
4. Do you think it is worth a monthly payment or one- time fee?
7 surveyed agreed one-time fee, 3 surveyed said monthly payment.
5.Do you believe that this is truly a great idea to encourage your child?
6 surveyed said yes, and 4 surveyed said no. One parent that answered yes stated,” I think anytime you can give positive reinforcement to your children’s good behavior it is a wonderful thing.”
6. Do you think this would be a great way to monitor your child’s behavior at home, in school, or with another parent?
8 surveyed said yes, 2 said no. One parent stated,” No, I do not think so. My kids behave wonderfully at school. They are on good behavior at their grandparents. Their father is very strict with them. They feel comfortable with me, so I tend to get the worst behavior. So I do not think this would be an accurate measure of their behavior.”
7.Do you think if you spent money for the site you would be responsible for updating the information?
All 10 surveyed said yes.
8. Would you recommend this site to your friends with kids?
I sent out a very brief description of the website commendablekids.com to several of my friends that have children of the age that the site would be beneficial. I received some very positive feedback and am very glad that I discovered this website. Basically, commendablekids.com is a website that focuses on praising children for their accomplishments by awarding them with a badge that is placed online and shared with family and friends. Once the badge has been shared friends and family can “high five” the child for their great work and also leave comments for them. One of my favorite parts of this site is the ability to print of the badges and make physical awards to give the children for the accomplishments. All 10 of my friends said that they would use the site. 9 out of 10 said they would not pay to use the site. 7 out of 10 said the site left them feeling positive or empowered to praise their child. 10 out of 10 said they would recommend the site to friends and family. Overall, I thought the site was a great find and I can not wait to start using it with my son.

Stephanie Coyle: I chose the website Fido’s Laundry as I knew that many of my friends were dog owners and would be apt to look at the website. My assumption was correct, but what surprised me was the positive feedback about the website. Although most everyone thought the pricepoints were a little high, they said they would still purchase from the site! A few people even said that because they offered eco-friendly products, that made them more apt to purchase from the site. It was interesting to see that there are so many people that are not price driven when it comes to something or someone they care about.

Crowdsavings.com is similar to other sites like groupon, jetsetter, or travelzoo. The site seems to focus on local deals which make it different from the competitors.
I did two separate focus groups threw out the weeks. The focus group had age group from 22 years old to 49 years old. There were 7 females and 9 males in the groups. The follow is the summary from the people who were in the two focus groups.
Majority of the people in the focus group would save they would use the site if the deal looked good but they would not follow the site to keep up on new deals. So it would be a waste because the site did not capture there attention. They all stated the site was simple and looked cheap. Also they state the site made them feel a little confused on the terms and what the deal actually is. Since they are selling the deals and not charging for the site how much would you pay for the product was not a question that was necessary. But the majority stated the deal would have to be something they use or at least 50% off before they would consider the deal a good deal. Most stated they would not use the site off and buy stuff. But majority stated that is because the products did not look like something they would use. So new products with broad appeal like; restaurants, groceries, automotive repairs, household repairs and services, etc… would be something to look into for possible new product to add to the deals. All of them would recommend deals they like to friends or if they saw deals a friend might like. The major problems with the site from the focus group seemed to getting and keeping the customers attention. All in all positive comments came from the group. It seems like a good start just need to find a niche and grow from that start. I hope that this information from the two focus groups helps.
The company I chose to do my market test on is Foodblogs, they are a non-profit company where they hold many food blogs in which people can keep up with favorite food blogs and discover new ones. Outlier: Only one said they would not recommend it to their friend “because I want to be the smartest friend”. The business/website I used was www.fidoslaundry.com Which is a website specializing in dog clothing/collars and toys. I asked my ten participants the following questions regarding the website, their responses are below I made sure all of my participants were dog owners so that I could get valid answers.

Do you think the prices are fair? 7/10 said yes, 3/10 said no 5. Would you recomend it to a friend 8/10 said yes
In my opinion as a dog owner, I think the site is very well put together and from my experience I have seen nothing like it before. If the need came up, I would have no problem purchasing something from the site.
I chose to do my market research on a company called Fidos Laundry, which is an online upscale dog boutique carrying hip and edgy dog clothing, beds, carriers, and accessories (http://www.fidoslaundry.com). Even though I am not a dog owner, I was interested to see how dog owners would survey this website. I find in this country that you can never go wrong with pet related businesses being that most citizens own pets and have a love for dogs especially. Here are my results for 5 questions I posed:
1. Would you use it? 7/10 2. Would you make regular purchases on this site? 7/10 3. Would you recommend it to your friends? 8/10 4. Would you promote it on your social networking site/blog? 7/10 5. Are the prices reasonable? 7/10
I knew majority of the group would like and appreciate the site as dog owners. There are numerous successful dog related business just around the Bay Area that most dog owners utilize (dog hotels, dog water park, dog sitters, etc.). You can never go wrong with a business targeting dogs and pets.

My results were interesting, everyone wanted leadership training. All 10 people interviewed were in a regional sales manager position or higher. Most of the people interviewed had at least 11 employees that report to them.
The idea of creating a company that sells shoes and sends shoes to third world countries the feedback I received was encouraging. The need being shoes for children and adults in sever poverty. Lauren Lomonaco : Wells Fargo www.wellsfargo.com After testing a group of 10 individuals (8 of which were women and the other two men) in regards to the notion of utilizing a secured credit card through Wells Fargo I found that the results were positive in nature. Of course because of their large standing in business, as well as their ability to deliver being number one in customer service for the past three years, everyone subject to the Market Test knew of the company and had a pre-formulated opinion of Wells Fargo. The results were as follows: -Do you know what a secured card is? 2/10 said yes (I then informed them of the purpose of the card and how to use it) -Would you use a secured card? 7/10 said yes -How does it make you feel? Responsible, stable -Is the amount of $ down reasonable? 4/10 said yes -Would you recommend it to a friend? 8/10 said yes -Is the product useful to others? 10/10 said yes -Would you say this is a worthwhile product to offer Wells Fargo customers? 10/10 said yes
The ideology behind using a payroll company to complete weekly, bi-weekly or monthly payroll for a company is, it leaves the owner(s) and operations managers with more time to continue effective ways of increasing sales, revenue and growth. An outsourced payroll agency responsible for quarterly and annual tax reporting, payroll and W2 processing on behalf of an organizations is intended to ease the mind of business owners. Business owners should feel a secure understanding that all state, local and federal government guidelines are being adhered to. In the Product Market Test of the Payroll company, the products were time clock, 401K, health and benefits and the payroll product itself. I surveyed small-to-midsized organizations and here are my findings: -The product offering scored 10/10, all the organizations found valuable product offerings that would be a value added analysis of their organization. Whether a bundled package or single product offering each individual selected a product for use. -The Product use(y)(N)-9/10 would use the product on a continuous basis. The one organization that would not use the product on an on-going basis states "the monetary aspect is rather high for such a small organization". -The Product feeling, 9/10 Most organizations felt that the products they were most interested in would serve their organizational purpose. Especially the time clock product where this is an added value to reduce the amount of labor hours falsely reported by employees. One organization felt the usefulness of the internet reporting would better suit his needs if our database host had a quicker response time. -The Compensation Fairness, 9/10 Organizations felt that the compensation asking of the product was fair. However, 8/10 did not do research of payroll organizations and compare pricing, but where satisfied with the product asking price to get the services quickly started. A single organization believe the compensation fairness was not up to par. As a single individual within the company, an officer only package may be a better product offering. Consideration for such a packages is being heavily weighed. -The Continuous Use ranked 8/10, Although the majority of continuous use ranked high the actual continuous use factored was 6/10. Many of the organizations were barely making budget and projected revenue goals within the allocated time frame to their own shareholders liking. Month to month operating expenses were under budgeted and Labor hours were not practical to successfully operate the business. With this in mind, signing up for an additional service(s) with any company or payroll company should not have been an option. As statistics show these services as the end result would be another bad debt right off for the payroll company and bad collection reporting for the organization. -The Recommendation Perks, 10/10 -although each individual stated that they would highly recommend the payroll company, the likely hood of that recommendations comes at the risk of how well the customer continues their account. The risk aspects are on time payments of services provided and monthly membership payments when the actual services are not in use; however a minimum monthly payment is assessed to ensure that all aspects of state and local tax reporting is handled accurately.

I interviewed six individuals that were members of USAA or had been a member before and the other four were not members. All of them viewed USAA's products and services as being very affordable and would love to become members if they could qualify or were happy if they were currently members. All of them view USAA in a positive light and feel they offer great customer service to their members. They would all recommend USAA to their friends and family members. USAA offers many services so cost would vary depending on what you get but those I talked to were interested in car insurance and banking and one member had home insurance through USAA. Overall can tell USAA is a great company with a positive reputation. Didn't see much variations in results demographically and not surprised since USAA is a good company.
I held an informal meeting with 8 of my friends all in their late 30's, 6 or whom are married couples, 2 are single mothers, and 4 who are recently new parents of their first child. None of the parents had a child with a disability but were asked to take this into consideration for the purpose of the discussion. The topic at hand was a support group for new parents of Deaf or Hard of Hearing children. All of the parents, especially the two single mothers, indicated that if there were a support group for new parents of disabled children and it was offered, they would immediately sign up for it. Most indicated that when they visit the pediatrician with their child, almost none had referrals to groups in the community that supported new parents other than referrals for nursing mothers. While each member of the group, especially the fathers admitted that they would feel awkward at first joining a support group, all of them acknowledged that the benefits of participation would outweigh their anxiety. Mothers more than fathers indicated the desire to learn sign language to communicate with their children. All of the mothers present desired in home instruction but would be willing to travel to a central county location for instruction if in home options were not available provided that child care was offered. Only two parents knew of American Sign Language and all indicated that they would feel inadequate if a native user of ASL who did not use their voice came into their home to instruct them. Overall, all of the parents preferred the opportunity to meet with other parents and network resources for support.

Very interesting and helpful study! Thank you.

ReplyDeleteIn a world like today where technology is advancing at an alarming speed, it’s amazing how many companies still use outdated machines such as the fax.

2) Do you understand how this would work?
3) What would you pay for something like this?
4) Would you recommend this to friends?

-7 people said that if they had the business needs then they would be interested in this product.
-Everyone understood how it worked, because it's a very simple concept.
-However, because faxing is fading away, nobody was willing to pay too much for the service.

As I read the various responses, I could understand why some were undecided about the products and making a change. It’s hard to change when you’ve been accustomed to doing things or buying certain products for such a long period of time. However, given the information from this site, I don’t feel the decision to make a change would be that hard after trying the product and services.

ReplyDeleteI enjoyed browsing through the website and thought that this was a genius idea.

After my study I would say many people would like a site like crowdsavings.com. It reminds me of Groupon and Living Social, both are websites that I personally purchase from monthly.
Lets face it, it is becoming more and more difficult to sell homes in this tough economy. Whatever your reason for moving is, domuswap.com is a site that is worth checking.
ReplyDeleteWould you use it? 6 NO, 4 YES
Feelings? No's mostly said they were freaked out by online dating and found the idea stupid. Yes's were happy to meet new people and willing to try.
How much would you pay? Majority wanted free, or super cheap startup fee
How often would you use it? Some said monthly, while others said annually
Recommend? 7 NO, 1 MAYBE, 2 YES
I chose a company called GetUbored. The website is : getunbored.com
ReplyDeleteI chose this site because I am a member of a similiar site called Meetup. I like the idea of meeting people in a group setting. Getunbored has all the benefits of a meetup group and the availability to make your own group. Getunbored offers a personal calendar and an amazing search engine.
I sampled 10 people. (5 males and 5 females between the ages of 20 - 50) The questions and results are shown below.
1) Would you use this website for your social gathering needs? YES 8 NO 2
2) Do you feel this site will save you time? YES 7 NO 3

Market test:
ReplyDeleteUtilizing the following website http://tampabaywave.org/ventures, I uncovered a startup business of Food Blogs that created personal interest for me.
ReplyDeleteI surveyed 10 of my friends between ages 22 and 28 and asked them the following 6 questions (after explaining what the business is about):
Question A B C D E F G H I J
1 Y N N Y N N Y N N N
2 Y N Y Y N N N Y Y Y
3 Y N/a Y Y Y Y N Y Y Y
4 Y N Y Y N N Y Y Y Y
5 5 1 4 3 1 1 1 4 5 4
6 Y N Y Y Y N Y Y Y Y

ReplyDeleteI was interested in the Tour Wrist app for Apple products.
ReplyDeleteAfter viewing the video, were you interested in the TourWrist app? 6 Yes, 3 No
How did you feel about the app after viewing the video? Curious, Excited, Sounds Cool, Looks easy to use, Not important to me, Want to see it in action, Not polished yet

ReplyDeleteAs the mother of two little boys, I thought that this idea was genius.

DeleteMarket Test: Commendable Kids
ReplyDeleteStudent: Marissa Rippel
Class: MAR4413
9 surveyed said yes, 1 said no.
I liked this one, too!

DeleteStephanie Coyle: I chose the website Fido’s Laundry as I knew that many of my friends were dog owners and would be apt to look at the website.

DeleteCrowdSavings.com
ReplyDeleteCrowdsavings.com is similar to other sites like groupon, jetsetter, or travelzoo.

DeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteI chose to do my market research on a company called Fidos Laundry, which is an online upscale dog boutique carrying hip and edgy dog clothing, beds, carriers, and accessories (http://www.fidoslaundry.com). Even though I am not a dog owner, I was interested to see how dog owners would survey this website. I find in this country that you can never go wrong with pet related businesses being that most citizens own pets and have a love for dogs especially. Here are my results for 5 questions I posed:
1. Would you use it? 7/10
2. Would you make regular purchases on this site? 7/10
3. Would you recommend it to your friends? 8/10
4. Would you promote it on your social networking site/blog? 7/10
Seems like they are on the right track! Thank you, Sacha.

I surveyed small-to-midsized organizations and here are my findings:
ReplyDelete-The product offering scored 10/10, all the organizations found valuable product offerings that would be a value added analysis of their organization.

ReplyDeleteI held an informal meeting with 8 of my friends all in their late 30's, 6 or whom are married couples, 2 are single mothers, and 4 who are recently new parents of their first child.
