Hello Class! Upon doing my survey on Commendable Kids I came to find that most people would use the Commendable Kids page to track their child’s success as well as to award them for accomplishments. Three of the four people who mentioned that they would prefer the service to be free said they would be more apt to pay for it if it was intertwined with the child’s school. Most of my participants also felt this would be an excellent addition. Teachers and parents seemed to think this would be a great tool to use to share their children’s accomplishments with family and friends.

Below I have listed the details of the survey and results.

    1. Would you consider registering your child or following a child to provide support or encouragement?
    Yes (8), No (1), Maybe (1)

    2. Do you feel this would aid you in making an impact on your child’s success? Or another Child’s success?
    Yes (9), No (1)

    3. How much would you pay to be a part of this web-based community per year?
    Free (4), 10 (1), 20 (1), 25 (1), 29.99 (1), 50 (2)

    4. How often would you renew your membership for your child if it was set up on a yearly membership? Until what age or Grade?
    6TH (1), 8TH (5), 12TH (2), Undecided (2)

    5. How often would you visit this site or update your child’s performance?
    Daily (1), 3 Times a week (1), Weekly (7), Bi-weekly (1)

    6. Would you ask your children’s teachers to partake in the website?
    Yes (8), No (1), Maybe (1)

    7. Would you offer any extra incentives to the child for achieving a certain amount of badges or good reviews?
    Yes (9), No (1)

    8. Would you recommend for this product to be used in your children’s current school?
    Yes (7), No (1), Maybe (2)

    9. Would you recommend this product to a friend?
    Yes (7), Maybe (3)

  2. Hello Class!
On doing my focus group I was surprised to have found out that I decided to get into a tough competing market with a lot of bad publicity. Property Management Companies is a hard business to sell I found this out after having a focus groups with a few property rental owners a condo association manager and a competitor in the industry. The feedback I was given was at the end of the day the decision to hire a PM depends on the circumstances of the customer i.e. the rental property owner and these circumstances can vary from unnecessary expense, to more free time with less hassle.
This is how it was broken down
    PROS CONS
    *TENANT & LANDLORD INTERACTION
PROS-Hiring a PM can prevent any potentially negative interactions between you and your tenants further preventing damages that could take years to undo
CONS-That old saying you never know what you’re going to get. You don’t know if they have your best interest at hand.

*MAINTENANCE AND UPKEEPING OF THE RENTAL PROPERTY
PROS-PM company will dedicate more time to your property. Furthermore, the company might be able to hire contractors at discounted rates due to being repeat customers
CONS-Not all property requires a great deal of work or regular maintenance. Also depending on the amount of property being managed it is not cost efficient if you only have a few units.

*EXPERIENCE WITH MANAGING A RENTAL PROPERTY
PRO-If you haven’t owned a rental property before, hiring a property management company would be your best choice. Property management company can make easier such as: rent collections, day-to-day maintenance, and tenant interaction.
CONS-Hiring property management company costs money. Some property management companies charge flat fee rates and others charge a percentage of your rental income.

    *PROXIMITY TO YOUR RENTAL PROPERTY
PRO-Without a property manager, you would typically take multiple trips to your rental property to deal with problems and even hire an outside contractor to fix them. Property management company will be able to handle the various foreseeable problems that occur within your rental property.
CONS-If you live near your rental property, have the time, and know how to deal with the variety of issues related to a rental property, then a property management company could be an unnecessary expense.

  5. I found it very surprising that most people actually had the same reactions; also they gave some great ideas of how to develop the tool if used for more sales. The more I listened the more I learned and had ideas kicking of doing this or that with Textbychoice.
    What is it?
TextByChoice for promoting Performance and Classic car part sales, customers must sign up by web page and specific car they are interested in getting offers for. Example if the person has a 1966 Ford Mustang that person would click 1966 Ford Mustang when they enter their texting phone number and they would only receive offers for parts fitting 1966 Ford Mustang. More direct marketing and sales versus getting spammed by what you don’t want or could use.
    Would you use it?
Yes, I actually would because I hate getting offers for things I can’t use. Usually it’s offers or specials 99% of the time I can’t use.
How does it make you feel?
Well I think it’s a good idea because I don’t have to worry about all the junk mail I get now, plus I don’t even read those email offers anymore they piss me off of how many I get and it’s never a good deal or for my car. It almost feels like an automated sales offer specifically for me, so I guess I would be excited to see the text knowing it might be something I could use or want.
How much would you pay for it?
I wouldn’t pay anything for it.
How often would you buy it?
I would buy parts more often if it was directed to me more, like customized for me. Also I read my texts all the time, more than junk email. But make sure it doesn’t go over board and text me every day, I don’t want to a slew of text’s.
Would you recommend it to friends?
Sort of, I would if there was a facebook or twitter share feature next to the feature on the website, or if there was a function to add contacts via my phone to sign up for the text’s. So you could add contacts and then it would text them saying I asked them to check out this link and why it sounds like a good idea etc.. Make it easy, I don’t want to be navigating and typing a bunch of stuff on my phone.

I was unable to get any email response so I decide to do a focus group at work and asked them about my offering. Below is what I was able to collect from the focus group:
    1. They love the product and they will definitely use it. My offering was container of two sizes one being 8ft and the second being 16ft. Once I explained them how they can use my product during home renovation, extra storage on driveway they were excited that my product totally differentiated from traditional move.
    2. Majority of the folks were happy to pay $399 for monthly, but I did find 2 people who thought that $399 was a lot and would only use my product if it was $299. Even with my price being not in everybody range they all stated when time comes them will use my product because it is so convenient. They will definitely recommend to their friends and family as moving is always stressful.

  10. I made a little research among my friends in Clearwater. Among them are a few business owners. Some people are already using some energy/water saving products. It seems that if it was enforced by law the interest would be much higher. Right now people are not very educated and informed on the benefits such products can bring to them.
    1. Have you heard about “green” products?
All 10 said Yes. But even though everyone seems to know about them, not many can name a few, besides probably fluorescent lights.
    2. Do you have any now?
    6 said Yes.
    4 said No
    3. Would you buy any if I explain you all the benefits and show you catalogs?
Almost everybody agreed that if the benefits are good, they would buy.
2 people are buying not because of the benefits but to preserve the nature.
    4. Would you recommend them to your friends and relatives?
If they like, all 10 would recommend. One person that has been using for a while already converted her whole family towards such products.
    5. Where do you usually buy such products (for those that use them)?
    Online, WalMart (lights, “green” cleaners)

  13. I first noticed that only about 1 in 2 individuals know about the TBPAL. The individuals that have someone who participate in a rec league or after school program, usually do depending on convenience of the location.Individuals will also be more willing to donate or volunteer for programs that they have a personal connection too.

  21. Through out March and April, I was exposed to the importance of product presentation and the overall selling strategies. My product was an application called ValetBoss, that puts the valet experience in the palm of the customers hand. In april, I established 3 top prospect and was about to conduct a presentation for a promising lead. The prospects were very interested in the application and I was able to leave a copy of my project along with future contact resources. As research and development further for the product, I believe I have a viable future customer. As a whole, most prospects showed interest in the product but would like to try it out once its up and running. This project was a valuable selling experience!

  22. I have been working on a sales plan for a new company in Tampa called Gigsource. Gigsource is a way for people to get their annoying chores and errands done by hiring someone at an affordable price to do it for them. I had so much fun learning more and more about the company and creating, in my opinion, a great sales plan. This project was a GREAT and challenging experience.
